New casting sides for a 2023 Power Rangers project have been revealed.

Power Rangers is on the verge of making their move. Other than Jonathan Entwhistle’s impending reboot on Netflix, we don’t know exactly what’s going to happen to the current TV series that has been running for almost 30 years. However, we do know that something is happening. Whatever that is, it just may be happening sooner than later.

Season 30… Is That You?

Casting sides for a 2023 Power Rangers project was leaked today by Mega Power Brasil on Twitter. It’s also been revealed that Iris Hempton will be overseeing the casting. According to the leaked information, this new production of Power Rangers is in its early stages for release in 2023.

Those hired to perform in the season will have to stay in Auckland, New Zealand for a period of 5/6 weeks, unlike the traditional per season that is 8 to 12 months. With the dubbing part (ADR) scheduled for January 2023.

It’s interesting to note that this doesn’t seem to be the script for Jonathan Entwhistle’s Power Rangers as far as we know. Other than his movie and series that’s currently in development, there’s an animated series and another live-action series for kids rumored to be in development.

We can also rule out the rumored animated series, for now, so by process of elimination we can deduce that this may be the other live-action series for kids, so most likely it’s the 30th Anniversary Season.

Our sources have previously told us that after the end of Hasbro’s deal with Toei they will retain the rights for every Super Sentai up to Ryusoulger. This includes all of the seasons before Zyuranger which is the season that the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was based on. As for the modern seasons Hasbro could choose from those could be ToQger, Zyuohger, Kyuranger, or Lupinranger vs Patranger. It is also possible that they could film original non-Japanese footage for this new project.

Could “Yen” Be The Red Ranger in 2023’s Power Rangers Project?

Yen (18 years old) was one of the best students, but she has struggled since her father passed away. The headmistress is hot on her heels for missing class, and today Yen is late again.

“Yen” seems to be the only ranger mentioned in the script, however, it’s worth mentioning that her name might be subject to change. Most names and descriptions are only commonly used for casting purposes. Regardless, judging by her description, she sounds like the lead role. It’s possible that she may just be the Pink Ranger, Yellow Ranger, or perhaps White, Green Black, or Blue, but what about Red?

Originally, Hasbro had plans for a female lead for Jonathan Entwhistle’s movie, but those plans may have been scrapped now along with the original script. However, there are multiple projects for Power Rangers in development so we could see some abandoned ideas be repurposed for other projects. Maybe we’ll finally see another female Red Ranger here.

We should learn soon enough, as Hasbro announces their plans for Power Rangers going forward later this year.
