Two new Legendary Pokémon will be made available for fans who have a copy of either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl in a brand new in-game update.
The Pokémon Company International announced that the two legendaries, Arceus and Darkrai, would be coming to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Arceus and Darkrai first made their appearance in the Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum games. They have also appeared in other games, like Legends: Arceus. In the video game series, Arceus is the God of all Pokémon and its universe’s creator. Darkrai in the video game series is called the nightmare Pokémon, as it’s famously known for giving nightmares to all beings. The two Legendaries also appeared in the franchise’s anime series and films. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl owners will have two incredible Legendary Pokemon on their roster with the new update.
How To Catch Arceus and Darkrai In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
To obtain Arceus in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, players must update their game copy to version 1.3.0*. Players must also have a copy of Legends: Arceus with a save file on their Nintendo Switch Console with the main missions completed. Players would also need to have finished the Pokémon League in either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, enter the Hall Of Fame, and obtain the National Pokédex.

Once all the conditions have been met, players would need to return to their room in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, where they will acquire an Azure Flute. Then finally, players will have to go to the top of Mount Coronet, enter Spear Pillar, and Arceus will reveal itself. After the reveal, players will have to battle Arceus and have the opportunity to capture it.
To acquire Darkrai, players must obtain the Member Card item. The Member Card is between the new moons from the Mystery Gift feature in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. Like the Arceus event, players would have to complete the Pokémon League, enter the Hall Of Fame, and obtain the National Pokédex. After completing all the mentioned tasks, players must travel to Newmoon Island and encounter Darkrai. The Member Card item will be given as a gift from 11:24 p.m. PT Friday, April 1, until 1:28 p.m. PT Sat., April 30, 2022.
The new update will be available starting Wednesday, March 16.
