The Boys Seasons 1 & 2 Collection is physically making its way into our homes on Blu-Ray and DVD this May.

The Boys is a geniusly macabre series currently streaming its first two seasons on Prime Video, as is their surprisingly more gratuitous animated anthology spin-off series, The Boys Presents: Diabolical. The series has a very unique take on the superhero genre that has connected with a global audience. However, as great as streaming the series is, it seems like the series wants to be a more tangible presence in our homes. So on May 17, 2022, the series is breaking into our homes on Blu-Ray and DVD!

The Boys Are Coming to Blu-Ray and DVD… Why?

The Boys Season 1

There is something about having a collection of movies that screams… NERD. Honestly, speaking personally, having a large movie collection not only shows my tastes and love of the art of filmmaking it shows I have a disposable income. The right swipe I bring over doesn’t have to know I get my movies from the bargain bin… on Black Friday. But aside from being the numerous signals have a collection radiates, the physical editions tend to provide more than the digital editions. Just look at the physical vs digital copies of Marvel movies. The digital lacks director commentary! That’s blasphemy to a nerd like me.

So as great and convenient it is to watch the series on Prime Video, there is something more for fans who want to go deeper into the series of The Boys. Also, “purists” know the best audio quality comes from physical copies. Lastly, Sony created Blu-Ray and also produce the series so I feel like there is a discount or there are fewer barriers to do so. And probably, the series is beloved so like more money. It is what it is. Check out the official information about The Boys Seasons 1 & 2 Collection below.

The Boys Seasons 1 & 2 Collection should not be confused with the region-free Blu-Rays currently available on Amazon. I do not think those come with any special features. This is a new release that comes with bloopers, deleted and extended scenes, plus a Butcher short film. I’m hoping there is more, like commentary from the cast and creatives. But that is unlikely at this point. This will act as a perfect reason to rewatch the series so far before Season 3 releases on Prime Video on June 3, 2022.

About The Boys

The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought—the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super powerful.

Season Three of The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Jensen Ackles.

The Boys is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers, and developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Craig Rosenberg, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers. The Boys is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios, with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.

Professional Nerd | Amateur Human | Creative/Content Director The best way to describe Kevin Fenix is the kid you never tell what the buttons do in video games so you have a chance to win. Being 6’ 4” and Asian, he never really fit in, so he got comfortable standing out. Not only is it easy to find him in crowds, he dabbles in the culinary arts, does a little stand up and improv, and can honestly say Spider-Man is the Jesus-like influence of his life. Kevin Fenix loves dogs, movies, television, comics, comedy, and to shoot people… with video.
