“THAT TIME I Got REINCARNATED AS A SLIME THE MOVIE: SCARLET BOND” Acquired By Crunchyroll And Slated FOR THEATRICAL DISTRIBUTION IN EARLY 2023

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

Crunchyroll just got their hands on That I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlett Bond for fans to behold. The anime streaming platform has acquired the rights for the cinematic installment of the beloved isekai anime series. Fans will finally be able to continue the story of Rimuru Tempest, his town, and the friends he has made since he arrived in the world he arrived in, after reincarnation. Now, fans will witness the slime’s time as a demon lord and the new challenges that will follow when he meets another survivor of the Ogre race.

Crunchyroll has announced that it acquired the global distribution and marketing rights (excluding Asia) from Kodansha for the upcoming theatrical release of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond. The film debuts in Japan in November 2022 and will be distributed in all major global territories in early 2023. That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime has had 2 seasons released, with an OAD releasing 5 additional episodes. There is also a spin-off series called The Slime Diaries, which follows the story relating to the Jura Tempest Federation, the country that Rimuru founded with his fellow Monsters.

The Slime’s story continues in the new movie

Slime

The film is based on the best-selling light novel written by Fuze and illustrated by Mitz Vah and the popular fantasy-adventure anime series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

The series follows Minami Satoru, an average 37-year-old who dies and is reincarnated as the most unremarkable creature imaginable—a slime. Initially, things are pretty grim. He’s blind, deaf, and weak. But by combining his two special abilities, “Predator” and “Great Sage,” the newly named, Rimuru Tempest, will use his blobby powers to gain friends and foes alike in a diverse new world. The stand-alone story takes place following the ending of Season 2 of the anime series. More details about the film will be revealed in the coming months.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
