Kyuranger Fans suspect an incredible Evolution for Lord Zedd in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury

Cosmic Fury

Kyuranger fans may be on to something regarding a foe’s evolution in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, or they’re probably grasping at straws. Either way, it’s fun to discuss.

The return of Lord Zedd is a major cliffhanger that was left by Power Rangers Dino Fury before the Rangers begin their new space adventure in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. Simon Bennett revealed that the Zords of Kyuranger will be used in the new series but won’t adapt the Rangers of the Space series. However, some fans have spotted a Kyuranger foe that could potentially be a new form for the iconic villain. This could help fans predict how Lord Zedd could become more powerful as the show progresses.

Hasbro Pulse Con 2022 revealed the details of the new show during the Power Ranger panel hosted by Andre Meadows of Black Nerd Comedy. It was revealed by Simon Bennett that many new features will be included in the 30th-anniversary series, Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. This includes the Dino Fury Rangers returning for the 3rd season, new Ranger redesigns for the new adventure, adapting the Zords from Kyuranger, and more. It was also announced only the Zords will be adapted from the Sentai, with the rest as original content from the new Ranger team.

At the end of Dino Fury, it was revealed that Lord Zedd had escaped, leading the Rangers to begin a new adventure in space. Lord Zedd was a Power Rangers original villain that first appeared in the 2nd season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The iconic villain was a formidable foe and continued to appear in various seasons until his defeat, including Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers In Space. Lord Zedd was revived from the time he was most evil in Power Rangers Dino Fury and even reclaimed his personal weapon, the Z staff, from Grid Battleforce, as seen in the previous series, Power Rangers Beast Morphers.

Kyuranger’s potential Villain adaptation for Lord Zedd

Cosmic Fury/ Kyuranger

Uchū Sentai Kyuranger is a space-themed Sentai team of Rangers that travel the galaxy as the only resistance against the Space Shogunate Jark Matter. The leader of the evil Jark Matter was a ruler called Don Armage, who remained cloaked for most of the series in the early stages. Fans of the 41st Sentai series noticed the uncloaked appearance of Don Armage could be an evolution for Lord Zedd, as he has a similar non-skin appearance to the iconic villain. Here are the images of the uncloaked villain compared to Lord Zedd.

Anything could happen in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, but the resemblance is enough to suspect what Bennett and the team might plan to do for the villain in the show. The features of both villains are so similar when compared and it would be a fantastic opportunity to make Lord Zedd more menacing in the new era of the franchise. Whether this will be an adaptation the creative team decides to implement or have something else in mind, has yet to be revealed. However, there is a list of unused villains that could be used in Cosmic Fury, since Power Rangers Dino Fury adapted Tokkyuger Villian, Madame Noir, from the Sentai series that wasn’t adapted into a Power Rangers series.

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury is currently in production but the first 10 episodes will be released in the first quarter of 2023. Hasbro will be releasing the show on Netflix, which was revealed by Simmon Bennett to be available worldwide in an exclusive contract to end spoilers on social media.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
