BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER OFFICIAL SPOILER WARNING
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever honors the legacy of Chadwick Boseman and T’Challa. Chadwick Boseman tragically passed away in 2020, after a long, valiant fight with colon cancer. His MCU character T’Challa met a similar end in Wakanda Forever, passing away from an incurable illness.

The loss of these two incredible heroes is one of the biggest parts of Wakanda Forever. Their deaths changed the franchise permanently. Princess Shuri, Queen Ramonda and the people of Wakanda are struggling with the loss of King T’Challa in the new movie. The events of this film take place one year after the death of T’Challa.
WAKANDA FOREVER: HONORING BLACK PANTHERS OF THE PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
Eventually, Princess Shuri becomes the new Black Panther and takes the throne. Shuri leads her people to victory in a battle against Talokan, Namor’s undersea nation. Wakanda suffers heavy losses, and many are killed in the intense final battle. Ironheart and the Midnight Angels joined the fray, battling Namor’s army and warriors from Talokan like Attuma and Namora.
After the conclusion of this fight in Wakanda Forever, a post-credit scene continues the story. Shuri visits Nakia, T’Challa’s Widow in Haiti. Nakia runs a school there, away from Wakanda.
Nakia introduces Shuri to a young boy whose Haitian name is Toussaint. Toussaint had previously greeted Ramonda when she came to Haiti, but we did not know his identity. We learn that this is the child of Nakia and King T’Challa. Additionally, Toussaint’s secret name is revealed. Toussaint is actually Prince T’Challa the second.
BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER INTRODUCES THE YOUNG PRINCE T’CHALLA
This young prince was kept secret from the people of Wakanda. He was raised by his mother away from the pressures of the throne. Prince T’challa is a young boy, no older than 10. Nakia did not attend T’Challas’s funeral in order to keep her son’s identity secret from other Wakandan royalty.
Shuri is the Black Panther for now, and for the foreseeable future. But someday in the future of the MCU, Prince T’Challa the second may follow in his father’s footsteps. Legacy, heritage and family ties bind this unique Marvel family together, as is the tradition of the Black Panther. Toussaint is now a part of that tradition, and his destiny to become a superhero and leader seems clear.
The introduction of this young prince is a powerful way to honor the legacy of T’Challa and Chadwick Boseman. Toussaint has a bright future in this franchise.
Black Panther’s world has been defined by loss for a long time. With the arrival of Prince T’Challa in a post-credit scene, Wakanda Forever ends on a very hopeful note.
