We can all agree that 2023 is Pedro Pascal’s year. Not only is he starring in the hit HBO Max series The Last of Us but in March, he will be reprising his role as the beloved bounty hunter Din Djarin in season 3 of The Mandalorian. The actor has been quite busy and has become a household name since taking the leading role in the Disney+ series.
This doesn’t mean that the actor wasn’t well-known before. His previous work includes Game of Thrones as Oberyn Martell, Kingsman: The Golden Circle as Agent Whiskey, Narcos as Javier Peña, and many more. As an actor that’s getting bigger and better projects, there is one question many fans have in mind: Will we ever see Pascal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
PEDRO PASCAL AND THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE
In an interview with WIRED, the actor has spoken about his interest in being part of the MCU. He’s already part of the Star Wars universe so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he ends up being a part of Marvel. When asked by the outlet if he had popped into the national consciousness if he was younger, would he not have wanted a traditional Marvel role, Pedro Pascal actually answered, “But I do want that. I want to be in movies.” So, it appears the interest for Pascal to join the MCU in some way is definitely there on his part.

This isn’t the first time that a Star Wars actor ends up taking a role as a superhero in one of the world’s biggest franchises. For example, take Oscar Isaac. Just like Pascal, Isaac has done previous works but his celebrity status reached new heights when he starred in the 2015 hit film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. From that point on, he became a household actor and even landed the role of Marc Spector in Disney+ and Marvel Studios’ hit limited series, Moon Knight. Isaac will also be reprising the role of Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099) in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Seeing as both Isaac and Pascal are close friends (they both starred in Netflix’s Triple Frontier), it will be fun to see if they could perhaps reunite onscreen one day as part of the MCU. Only time will tell if and when Pascal will eventually get that important phone call from Marvel.
WHITE TIGER FAN-CAST
Technically, Pascal has been cast in a superhero film before, and it was for DCEU’s Wonder Woman: 1984. He didn’t play a superhero in that film, instead portraying the villainous Maxwell Lord. The film didn’t get very high marks from fans and critics, but you could say that this was a stepping stone for the actor in an action-pack superhero film. Rumors were circulating on the internet that the actor was in talks to join the MCU. Based on the WIRED interview, it appears the actor has not yet received any calls from the studio. Nevertheless, fans were already starting to fan-cast him as certain characters.
One of the characters who a lot of fans have connected with the actor is none other than Hector Ayala aka White Tiger. Ayala is a Puerto Rican immigrant who studied in New York City at Empire State University. While there, he finds an amulet that gives him the strength and the reflexes of three men. An interesting fact about the character is that the White Tiger was Marvel Comics’ first Latino superhero.
White Tiger first appeared in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #19 in 1974 and since then, the character has had multiple people taking on the White Tiger persona. This would be an interesting character to see Pascal portray in the MCU. We have yet to see this character on the big (or small) screen in live-action. Ava Ayala, the daughter of the original White Tiger, appeared in the Marvel animated series, Ultimate Spider-Man as a regular character.
Since Pedro Pascal is Latino himself, fans have quickly pointed out that the actor would be a good choice for portraying White Tiger. As of right now, fans will have to wait to see if there’s any possibility of Pascal taking over any Marvel character. It is safe to say that even if he doesn’t get the role of Hector Ayala, there are plenty of other characters. that he can take on. His filmography is growing and with the more action-filled television series and/or films he stars in, there will be a high chance of him being a part of the world that Is Marvel Studios.
