Prime Video’s hit animated series, Invincible, says Season 2 will release late this year.

Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, and Cory Walker’s beloved comic book turned Prime Video animated series, Invincible, just dropped a teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated Season 2. The series first aired in March 2020, and we are nearing 3 years since there has been a new episode. The plus side, the series was renewed for Season 2 and Season 3, so the narrative has a lot more freedom to play with with the solid guarantee of two Seasons. Plus, the comic book is not ongoing, which can really help define the entire arc of the series. Despite all of that, fans are still anxious for more Invincible and want to know when the wait will end.

The teaser trailer for Invincible features a hilarious catch-up session with Mark and Allen. Allen presses the issue and answers the hard-hitting question of when fans can expect more of the series after what seems to be an unreasonable amount of time. All this right after telling Mark to not put pickles on a burger… which is proof Allen is not of this world. Mark explains a lot of the technical aspects of creating an animated series over a montage of clips from Season 2, to which Allen says, “… although 90% of that sounds completely made up.” Allen presses the issue, and Mark gives a vague expectation of Late 2023.

Not a lot about Season 2 was revealed. This scene in the teaser will likely not be a part of the season, However, if the quality of the teaser will be matched by the series, we can see a noticeable increase in animation quality. Invincible was already a pretty impressive animated series, but with its success, looks like more resources, which means a higher level of animation. On top of the visuals, we also get a little peek at some of the events. When talking about the writing, visuals show the script highlighting a showdown between Mark and Immortal. Immortal, who was resurrected and killed twice by Omni-Man, looks to be holding a grudge with Omni-Man’s on.

Without spoiling too much from the comics, Immortal is a recurring character throughout the series. So this is definitely inspired by events in the comics. But we won’t know for sure until Season 2 premieres later this year. Until then, Season One is streaming on Prime Video.
