Roman Reigns Will Have His Revenge Against Sami Zayn At Elimination Chamber

WWE Sami Zayn Roman Reigns

Sami Zayn will face Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber premium live event instead of WrestleMania.

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally happened.  The hottest storyline in wrestling and most certainly in WWE has reached its final act.

This past Saturday the Honorary Uce is no longer an Uce.  After the main event of the Royal Rumble, which saw Roman Reigns defeat Kevin Owens a beatdown occurred on Owens.  Owens was handcuffed to the ring ropes and Zayn was instructed to hit his best friend, Owens, with a chair.  Zayn instead hit the Tribal Chief and he was beaten by The Bloodline.

We all knew this was coming very soon and would set up a match between Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns.  However, we did not know where this match would take place.  Rumors were conflicted as to if the match would happen at WrestleMania in a one-on-one match, a Triple-Threat match or at Elimination Chamber.  According to Wrestling Observer Radio the match will occur at Elimination Chamber and will main event the PLE.

“Sami Zayn’s the set up guy. Obviously, Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn is the main event for Montreal, and that’s been the plan all along,” Wrestling Observer Radio said. “They did not count on Sami Zayn getting so hot. They did not make a change because they decided not to change plans, and because they don’t see Sami Zayn as the guy to main event WrestleMania. That was the decision that was made. They do see Cody [Rhodes] as that. Cody was always the backup if Dwayne [The Rock] didn’t come, although obviously they did talk about [Stone Cold Steve] Austin.” H/T Wrestling Inc. The WrestleMania main event will see Roman Reigns taking on the newly returned Cody Rhodes.  Rhodes was out due to a torn pectoral tendon he suffered in June just days prior to Hell in a Cell.  He made his big return in the Royal Rumble match this past Saturday and was the last surviving Superstar earning the opportunity to challenge any champion on the roster.  Rhodes has already made it clear he wants Reigns who is both the Universal and WWE champion.

The original hope seemed to be to have The Rock enter and win the match setting up The Rock vs. Roman Reigns WrestleMania match WWE has wanted for years.  Fortunately or unfortunately that did not happen and we will get Reigns vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania.

Even though we now know Sami Zayn will face Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber we do not know if Reign’s championships will be on the line and if so which one if not both.  Their feud will certainly continue beyond the Elimination Chamber match.  It is believed that Zayn will team up with Owens at WrestleMania to take on The Usos or perhaps Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa as Jey Uso left the Bloodline in the ring as they beat Zayn down.  Jey’s affiliation is currently not known.

Could Zayn Main Event Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania?

An interesting possibility is that Rhodes could challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship as WWE has combined the championships into one, but it has been reported WWE wants them separated again very soon.  WWE could have Zayn challenge for one and not both.  If Zayn wins one them then it would force the WrestleMania main event to be a Triple-Threat match because Rhodes challenged for both.

What do you think of the Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn match happening at Elimination Chamber?  Are you looking forward to it?  Would you rather see it at WrestleMania? Do you think it will be a championship match?  Do you think Zayn will win the match?  Would you rather see it be a one-on-one match or a Triple-Threat match with Rhodes thrown in?  Would you rather have seen Reigns vs. Rock or Austin?  Do you think Zayn and Rhodes are ready for the WWE/Universal Championship?  Let us know if this Bloodline storyline has moved Zayn to being on the top tier of the roster on social media.
