Ranger Academy’s first Volume has revealed the synopsis and upcoming events for the new comics from Boom! Studios. The first 4 issues were revealed in the upcoming release that follow the Free Comic Book Day exclusive release, which gave a sneak preview of the story. The plot involves key events regarding the Rangers in training, providing the mystery that Sage, Tula, and Mathis uncover and try to solve. The information also reveals the background of the school and the upcoming threat that these students will have to face to protect the Morphin Grid.
Ranger Academy was revealed as an upcoming new story in the Power Rangers universe when it was announced as part of the Free Comic Book Day line-up for 2023. The first issue was a preview of the upcoming story and was released on May 6, 2023, to introduce the main characters of the upcoming comic series.

A lot of mystery was featured as a teaser as the FCBD issue introduced Sage, Tula, and Mathis and included Sage’s father, Rhianth, with mentions of a ‘Merrick’ and the Bandoran Monks. The new story featured Sage joining the academy training the next generation of Rangers as she sneaks away with Tula and Mathis and becomes the new recruit.
Ranger Academy Synopsis Revealed by 1st Volume
The Ranger Academy Vol 1 was revealed on Amazon as the latest listing, which will include issues 1 to 4 of the upcoming release. This was also shared by @Martian_Ranger alongside the listing of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Recharged Vol. 4 as both items included vital information about the new story from Boom! Studios. The new comic series was written by Maria Mora Ingrande and features art by Jo Mi-Gyeong as a brand-new story explores another side of the Morphin Grid. The synopsis has revealed a mystery involving the Green Ranger removed from the Power Rangers’ history and teases an ancient enemy that will try to invade the academy.

The erasing of the Green Ranger from Power Rangers history is the biggest surprise featured in the new story within the Ranger universe, which creates a burst of excitement to discover the cause. As Tommy Oliver often used the Green Ranger powers, it’s curious that the iconic Ranger from the Mighty Morphin series has been hidden from the students of the Ranger Academy.
The first release for the story only introduced the main characters but gave fans many teases regarding mentioned characters including Merrick, who could be the same Ranger featured in Power Rangers Wild Force. It will be exciting to find out who the mentors are, other characters included, and if there is any link to the Darkest Hour event that features the possessed Wild Force team.
Ranger Academy #1 release date has yet to be revealed but Ranger Academy Vol 1 will be available as a Paperback copy via Amazon, which will release on February 1, 2024. The 1st volume of the series will include issues 1 to 4. More announcements regarding the upcoming Power Rangers comic book series are expected soon from Boom! Studios.
