INTRODUCING THE NEW SPACESHIP THE HOOPTY FROM THE MARVELS

The new playset is currently priced at $89.99 and is available on LEGO’s website. The playset features LEGO minifigures for Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan, and Photon/Monica Rambeau. It also looks like there are extra accessories for the minifigures to simulate the heroes’ light-based superpowers that are featured in the upcoming Marvel film.

Besides the three minifigures, the set also comes with two stud shooters for dealing with bad guys, Goose the Flerken, and an opening cockpit to fit all three characters. It also comes with scientific equipment accessories, and what looks like a miniature vinyl record player. You can view some more images of the upcoming LEGO playset release below:

With The Marvels originally set to release this month, some merchandise for the film is already hitting shelves, such as the new Hasbro Marvel Legends wave featuring figures from the film. The film is currently scheduled to release in November, and LEGO is shipping its products for the film just in time for the currently scheduled release date.

The Hoopty playset will ship in October. Thus far, it appears to be the only LEGO playset that has been announced for the upcoming Marvel Studios sequel.

Based on the recent trailer release for the film, it looks like Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, is living in outerspace at the start of the film, and she’s keeping in contact with SABER Director Nick Fury. It looks like the trailer also shows what appears to be live-action snippets of The Hoopty from the upcoming film. So, the Hoopty appears to be Carol’s home of operations and her means of travel across space. It also looks like she’s taken Goose the Flerken as her pet.

So it looks like the Hoopty will act as a significant setpiece and vehicle throughout the film. It’s nice to see that Carol Danvers, as a pilot, has a ship of her own. It should also be fun to see the main characters interacting aboard the ship throughout the upcoming film.

The Marvels is currently scheduled for a November 10 release date. The film is directed by Nia DaCosta from a script she co-wrote with Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik. It stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau/Photon, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. It also stars Zawe Ashton as the Kree warrior Dar-Benn and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

While there have been rumors of another delay for The Marvels being mulled over by Walt Disney Studios due to the currently ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, nothing has been announced as of yet. If the strike issues are not resolved by November when the film hits theaters, it means the cast and crew will be unable to promote the film’s upcoming release.
