‘TMNT: Mutant Mayhem’ Sequel and New 2 Season Series in The Works

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies have exciting news for fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) franchise. The companies are developing a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and a two-season series titled Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is also in the works. The series, set to appear on Paramount+, will serve as a bridge between the films, expanding the franchise like never before.

TMNT: A Top Priority for Paramount and Nickelodeon

The decision to develop a sequel and a series is a testament to the studio’s confidence in Mutant Mayhem, an animated adventure set to hit theaters on August 2. Paramount and Nickelodeon chief Brian Robbins has prioritized rebooting the Turtles after the live-action film franchise lost momentum with 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

The sequel is being produced by Point Grey Pictures and directed by Jeff Rowe, who also directed and co-wrote Mutant Mayhem. The Paramount+ series is also being produced by Point Grey Pictures. Chris Yost and Alan Wan will serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Lukas Williams overseeing both the series and sequel for Point Grey.

The upcoming Paramount+ series, Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will be a 2D animated series with two seasons currently in development. The series takes place between the events of the feature film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and the forthcoming sequel. The series will see the Turtles challenged like never before as they each go it alone for the first time. Faced with new threats and teaming up with old allies, the Turtles will discover who they really are when they don’t have their brothers at their sides.
