The latest covers include a new Zombie Ranger variant cover along with fantastic new art for Lord Zedd’s Ranger form.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #112 Highlights Grid Infection During Darkest Hour

BOOM! Studios, under license by leading toy and game company Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), revealed a first look at Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #112, the continuation of the Darkest Hour event, taking place after the bold and greatly anticipated Reunited, Recharged era of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The superstar creative lineup includes writer Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky), artist Hendry Prasetya (Star Trek), colorist Matt Herms (Archie, All-New Firefly), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable) in the continuation of this monumental 12-month event, available in September.

A Master Arch explosion strands Trini, Zack, Kimberly, Tommy, Aisha and Matt on a mysterious and deadly planet, where they’re constantly under attack by Mistress Vile’s Thralls. Meanwhile, the creeping infection in the sky continues to grow…

At the same time, Billy finds himself in a pocket of interdimensional space inside the Morphin Grid, where he confronts a construct of a recently departed friend…

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #112 features main cover art by star artist Taurin Clarke (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) and variant covers by acclaimed illustrators Björn Barends (Spawn), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Audrey Mok (Archie), Ejikure (Firefly: The Fall Guys), and Derek Kirk Kim (The Eternal Smile).

Celebrating 30 continuous years on the air, Power Rangers has become one of the longest-running kids’ live-action series in television history, with more than 900 episodes aired to date. Created by Haim Saban and launched in 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the series celebrates its 30th year with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, an anniversary special streaming exclusively on Netflix. The 30th overall season of Power Rangers, “Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury,” premieres Fall 2023 exclusively on Netflix.

The new covers are another fantastic addition to the collection as the Darkest Hour event continues. The pocket of interdimensional space was a surprise as Billy discovers Grace is now part of the Grid. The horrors seem to slowly grow as Mistress Vile has succeeded in helping Dark Specter infect the Grid.

The only missing addition to the story is the Hyperforce Rangers as they have yet to appear after encountering the possessed Wild Force Rangers with Death Ranger. It will be interesting to find out how the Rangers will deal with the growing threat as the situation becomes darker with every moment that passes.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
