Deadpool 3 has been on many fan’s radars since it was first announced when both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman released an official teaser announcement video over a year ago. Filming began in May 2023 but is currently on hold due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Shooting for the film was taking place in the UK before everything was shut down with the strikes.
Since the first announcement of the film, there have been rumors about who might be making an appearance in the film. A current rumor that is making its rounds on social media is about a familiar X-Men character.
TOAD IS RUMORED TO MAKE HIS RETURN IN DEADPOOL 3
X user Deadpool Updates recently posted a tweet about X-Men villain Toad is rumored to be making his return in Deadpool 3. According to the X user, the information came from entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman. The Marvel character was first introduced in the 2000 live-action X-Men film.
Ray Park portrayed the character and as any X-Men fan will know, the character was ultimately killed by Storm (Halle Berry). You can check out the tweet below:
TOAD IN THE COMICS
Mortimer Toynbee, better known as Toad, was of English descent and was abandoned by his parents as a young child due to his deformity. He eventually became an experiment for the Black Womb Project run by Amanda Mueller. After categorizing Toynbee as a mutant reject due to his flawed genetics, Mueller wanted to see how his natural development would progress.
He was placed in an orphanage where the other children would torment him and call him a freak due to his appearance. He was traumatized by his loneliness and the continual abuse that affected his learning abilities.

Teachers and administrators would regard him as mentally challenged though he had gifted intelligence. As a young adult, he was discovered and saved by Magneto when he became a victim of a lynching in Manchester. Magento recruited him as one of the first members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
Toynbee’s alias Toad was given after his abilities, appearance, and personality. Even though he was given shelter and a purpose, he was seen as a jester by Magneto and was expected to follow orders. He became a teammate to Mastermind, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch. Toad was eventually freed from Magneto and later he sought to form a new Brotherhood. He sought to recruit a new team like Proteus, Sauron, Phantazia, and Morlock.
Toad has many different powers. He has superhuman leaping, superhuman strength, flexible bone structure, superhuman agility and reflexes, regenerative healing factor, acidic saliva, and many more. During the inhabitant of New Tian, Toad underwent a secondary mutation that gave him the gift of releasing fire from his tongue.
Even though he doesn’t have any formal knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, his powers enable him to execute a leaping kick with superhuman force at an opponent. He is also an expert machinist which means he has excellent knowledge of most forms of conventional and advanced technology. He once developed a robotic battle suit containing an exoskeleton that amplified his strength and was able to emit a pulse ball of lightning when it hit a target.

There has been no other information about Toad making his appearance in Deadpool 3. This is likely due to the SAG-AFTRA strike that is still happening but for now, we just have to wait and see if more information will be released. Deadpool 3 is expected to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.
