New Dekaranger D-Sword Vega Dazzles Fans For The 20th Anniversary

Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger reveals the upcoming D-Sword Vega Memorial Editon.

Dekaranger D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition was revealed by Bandai as an upcoming release. The 28th Super Sentai series will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with an unexpected release as DekaMaster’s weapon surprises fans as it’s found on display. The Changers for the main team and the new movie version were already revealed by Premium Bandai, but now a full-scale weapon will also be featured. The weapon belonging to Doggie Kruger will be available for fans to add to their collection, with images giving fans the first look at the item.

Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger featured their mentor and commander, Doggie Cruger, as DekaMaster during episode 13. The Extra Ranger was the boss of the team that appeared since the first episode but charged into action with his D-Sword Vega as a member of the team. The character was also a dog-based humanoid that came from the planet Anubis, known as a legend during his time in SPD. During the adaptation, Power Rangers SPD, the character was given a new appearance but retained the same role and was known as the Shadow Ranger.

Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition Coming Soon

The D-Sword Vega Memorial Edition was discovered on display with the SP License and SP1 License Memorial Editions. The iconic sword belonging to DekaMaster will be given the Premium Bandai treatment that drastically increases the size compared to the Deluxe toy. The design features an incredible canine hilt, with complex detailing added to the hilt. The displayed item shared by Bandai is only a prototype, with the official release still in development. The full range of effects and the release date have yet to be revealed, with more announcements expected once development is complete.

This is a fantastic sneak preview as the sword has been beautifully captured as if it were the actual prop used in the series. DekaMaster and Shadow Ranger were iconic characters in both franchises so this will likely be a high-desired item among fans. It will be exciting to see what features the sword from the memorial edition will include, but lines from Tetsu Inada are highly likely to be included. Both the canine guard and the detailing on the handle are beyond amazing and it’s clear that the designers put a lot into creating a show-accurate release.

For now, there are no features or lighting revealed for the upcoming release as the product is still in production. Despite the lack of features revealed, fans are eager to get their hand on the upcoming Memorial Edition for its appearance alone. Fans of Power Rangers SPD will also be desiring the release as a full-scale weapon for Shadow Ranger has yet to debut. The D-Sword Vega will make a beautiful addition to any collection, but cosplayers will want to obtain this new release for their Dekaranger or SPD series portrayals.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
