WARHAMMER 40,000: SPACE MARINE 2 SET FOR SEPTEMBER 2024 LAUNCH

Space Marine 2 is going to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. The game is being developed by Saber Interactive, the team behind co-op shooter World War Z. It’s been just over two years since the game was first announced in December 2021, so it’s nice to see progress is being made, and the title finally has a release date.

Speaking on the release date announcement via a press release, Saber Interactive COO Tim Willits commented: “We are thrilled to finally reveal the release date for Space Marine 2. The entire team has poured their passion and creativity into this game, and we can’t wait for players to experience it at last. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re excited to share the fruits of our labor with players and the Warhammer 40,000 community.”

In Space Marine 2, players once again step into the role of the Space Marine Lieutenant Titus. In the sequel, he’s being voiced by Clive Standen of Taken and Vikings fame, replacing Mark Strong from the first game. Players will be able to enjoy the experience solo or up-to-three-player co-op during the campaign. Gamers will also have access to a deadly arsenal in their quest to embody the brutality of the Emperor’s greatest warriors to protect Humanity from the galaxy’s horrors and the forces of Chaos.

The first game grew quite the cult following over the years, so hopefully the sequel will turn out as promising as it looks. It appears Saber Interactive is expanding upon the original while also keeping what made the first game so exciting intact. Specifically, that unique blend of third-person shooter and melee combat, where you can just tear enemies up when you run out of ammunition.

It also looks like the sequel will maintain the strong narrative storyline that made the first game so memorable. The game finally hits the shelves on Sept. 9, 2024. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.
