Put your knuckles in the air for your favorite echidna in Paramount’s upcoming Sonic spin-off, Knuckles. Before you get hit by the series on Paramount Plus, get ready to be knocked out by the trailer.
It’s going to be a while until we catch up with Sonic and the gang in Sonic The Hedgehog 3, so it’s a good thing we can at least see what Knuckles is up to soon. While waiting patiently for the trailer to drop during the Super Bowl, Paramount could not wait any longer, subsequently taking matters into their own hands.

Knuckles follows The Echidna warrior voiced by Idris Elba, making himself at home since he helped Sonic and Tails save the world from Dr. Robotnik. From what we see in the trailer, Tika Sumpter’s Maddie Wachowski wants him out of the house so that he no longer ruins furniture pitting dogs to fight mailmen, like true warriors do.
Knuckles ends up pairing with Adam Pally’s Deputy Wade Whipple and teaching him his echidna ways. The action begins when Robotnik’s former associate begins plotting against him with the aid of his two minions who look like they should be in a Men In Black Movie. Now it’s time to see what Knuckles does best.

The series looks like it would be a great time, I found myself chuckling quite a bit watching the trailer. Idris Elba confirms what we’ve known since Sonic 2, the man was born to be the Echidna. What I like most is that the show seems to be putting all the focus on him as it should, it is not too concerned with filling in the gaps before Sonic The Hedgehog 3. Even though we see a little bit of Sonic in the series, this is 100% a Knuckles story.
