DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT UNVEILS NEW FOOTAGE FOR DLC 6

Bandai Namco Europe’s Marco Rizzo revealed in a PlayStation Blog post that the sixth DLC release for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will adapt the final episode of the anime series. In a time skip set 10 years after the victory by the Z Warriors over Kid Buu at the hands of Goku and Vegeta. This episode features the return of the Martial Arts World Tournament as the main event, with all of the Earth’s warriors gathering together.

During the DLC, players can encounter familiar characters who have aged and moved on in their lives, along with Goku’s granddaughter Pan. Players will get the chance to experience these events first-hand, along with battles previously shown in the anime series. It will also include original dialogues, storylines, and much more.

Besides the DLC’s main events, it will also feature new subquests for players with new unique rewards. One of the new side quests featured int he DLC is “A Day in the Krillin Household” side quest. In this side quest, players are attempting to recover the lost necklace of Android 18, the wife of Krillin, after their daughter Marron returns from a shopping spree. Also, this quest will allow players to take a look into the daily lives of the characters who live in the world of Dragon Ball.

While Goku and Krillin search for the necklace, they discover it has simply fallen while 18 was returning to Krillin, but it was stolen by two suspicious men. After confronting them, they use a capsule to summon a squad of Skull Robos, and they attack Goku as Krillin chases after the men. Once the enemies are dispatched, players will receive unique rewards.

Basically, it looks like this side quest will act as a nice epilogue to the gameplay experience. Players won’t be facing a major super-villain or a world-ending threat such as Majin Buu. But Rizzo teased some potentially harder challenges after the World Tournament. The DLC will also offer a deeper look at the characters’ feelings, which is at the heart of the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot gameplay experience. Discovering Android 18’s necklace will offer a deeper look into the hidden feelings of Android 18 for her husband Krillin for example.

The newly revealed gameplay footage also showcases a training fight or sparring match between Goku and his second son Goten. It’s pretty impressive to see that this game was released over four years ago, and it’s still getting supported with new gameplay content.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. The Goku’s Next Journey DLC arrives next month.
