Per today’s announcement, the product launch for the new figures is scheduled for late Summer 2024. They will be available both online and at select retailers. McFarlane Toys CEO and Founder Todd McFarlane said on the news, “We are excited to be partnering with VIZ Media and BLEACH to bring these unique and interesting characters to life. Meanwhile, VIZ Media’s Sr. Manager of Licensing stated, “We at VIZ Media, are looking forward to the release of these beautiful Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War figures with McFarlane. Whether you’re a lover of Bleach from 20 years ago or new to the Bleach fandom, these figures will not disappoint. We’re excited to be bringing the Soul Reapers and Quincies to life with McFarlane!”

McFarlane Toys has been dabbling in anime collectibles and action figures going back to the early 2000s, so it’s cool to see that tradition is being upheld all these years later. Interestingly enough, the original Bleach anime series debuted in 2004, and the show ran for 366 episodes, along with OVAs and movie spinoffs.

The hit anime series is adapted from the manga created by Tite Kubo. Thousand-Year Blood War continues from where the previous anime series left off. Two seasons totaling 26 episodes are available to stream now in the United States on Hulu. It’s also streaming on Star+ and Disney+ overseas.

The classic original anime series is also available to stream now on Hulu. So you can always go back and re-watch the original series from start to finish before starting Thousand-Year Blood War. It should be interesting to see how McFarlane’s new Bleach figures turn out when they hit the shelves later this year.
