The Ghost with the Most is back! Warner Bros. Pictures dropped the official trailer today for the highly anticipated, upcoming sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Acclaimed, award-winning actor Michael Keaton returns to his iconic role for the first time in over 35 years, reuniting with original director Tim Burton.

The new trailer showcases the return of Keaton and the other film’s original cast members Winona Ryder (Stranger Things, Little Women) as Lydia Deetz) and two-time Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt$ Creek, The Nightmare Before Christmas). The film arrives in theaters later this September. You can view the new trailer below:

BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BRINGS THE AFTERLIFE HUMOR BACK TO THEATERS IN A NEW TRAILER

Jenna Ortega joins the cast as Astrid, the daughter of Lydia. Other new cast members include Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti, and Monica Belluci. Bellucci is said to be playing Beetlejuice’s late wife, and her look in the film does appear quite striking. It looks like she’s an animated Tim Burton character from The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Corpse Bride brought to life in live-action.

The new film sees the Deetz family return home to Winter River after the death of Charles Deetz, Lydia’s father from the first movie. Still haunted by the memory of Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter Astrid discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.

Now, trouble is brewing in both realms, and it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times. It looks like the mischievous, trickster demon is back to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

The new trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice does offer more semblances of the plot. It’s not yet clear if Beetlejuice is a friend, foe, or something more in the middle. He might be all three. It looks like some people in the Netherworld are on the trail of Beetlejuice and want him captured. It also looks like Lydia is going into the other realm to save her daughter.
