Pictures dropped the official teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel, featuring the return of Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, which you can check out below.

The upcoming sequel arrives in theaters on Sept. 6. Oscar-nominated filmmaker, (Batman, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands), who directed the original film, reunites with Keaton for the sequel, and Burton is back to direct the new film.

Besides Keaton, the new sequel will feature the return of Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz. New cast members include Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Emmy nominee Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter Astrid, and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe.

In the sequel, an unexpected family tragedy sees three generations of the Deetz family return to the town of Winter River. Still haunted by her past encounter with Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life turns upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic, and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.

Now, with trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times. The mischievous demon and self-proclaimed bio-exorcist is ready to unleash his very own brand of mayhem once again.

Burton directs the sequel from a screenplay by his Wednesday series collaborators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on a story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. The film is based on characters created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson. It’s being produced by Marc Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tommy Harper, and Burton himself. Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Gough, Millar, Brad Pitt, Larry Wilson, Laurence Senelick, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, Anthony Tittanegro, Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg are executive producing the project.

Beetlejuice 2 will debut exclusively in theaters and IMAX nationwide on Sept. 6. It will start screening internationally on Sept. 4.
