Mayor of Kingstown Season 3

Paramount Plus’ Mayor of Kingstown, one of the streamer’s big shows starring Jeremy Renner, is returning with its third season this coming June. This is one of several projects Taylor Sheridan is working on for the company, which is why, along with Jeremy Renner’s near-deadly snowplow accident last January (as season 2 was coming out) that put him out for a few months, we thought we wouldn’t be getting the third season for a while.

However, that turned out not to be the case, as they were able to shoot the season earlier this year, and they have a teaser trailer for it. Paramount has announced that the series is returning on June 2, and released the following teaser to pump audiences up for it:

MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN SEASON 3 DEBUTS IN JUNE

Mayor of Kingstown is one of multiple shows Sheridan is developing for the Paramount. The flagship show is of course Yellowstone, which is finishing off later this year with the release of the final batch of season 5 episodes, and which airs on Paramount Network, and not the streaming service.

The story will continue, however, in a sequel series that has Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer in talks to star, and that could also involve multiple actors from the main Yellowstone series, should those deals close.

Besides that, new seasons of the Yellowstone spin-off 1923, with Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, and the Sylvester Stallone-led Tulsa King are in development too. The latter just started filming, while the former is probably waiting for Harrison Ford to wrap his Apple series Shrinking.

It was a matter of good timing for the Mayor of Kingstown. Sheridan probably was able to have those scripts ready before the strike, and they managed to get it into production fast after SAG-AFTRA reached their deal. They also worked on it really quickly, as filming began less than three months ago and they believe they are capable of releasing it within six months.

The series debuts June 2 and will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
