Cobra Kai fans are in for a special treat as it has been announced that the sixth and final season of the beloved Netflix series will be returning this July. The final season will be an epic 15-episode, three-part event where we will once again see Ralph Macchio and William Zabka return as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence with the rest of the cast.

Part 1 will premiere on July 18, followed by Part 2 on November 24. The third and final part of Season 6 will arrive in 2025. All three parts will consist of five episodes each. The length of the episodes have yet to be determined. You can check out the official date announcement trailer below:
THE ICONIC WORKS BEHIND COBRA KAI
Season 6 will pick up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, the senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate. Even though Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) was defeated at the end of the last season, Cobra Kai founder John Kreese (Martin Kove) is back after he faked his death and escaped prison. Things are about to heat up and according to Xolo Maridueña who plays Miguel Diaz, “It’s gonna be a banger.”
Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, Dallas Dupree Young, Yuji Okumoto, Alicia Hannah-Kim, Griffin Santopietro and Oona O’Brien will once again grace the small screen for the upcoming season.
Cobra Kai is executive-produced and written by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. In 2023, when it was announced that the series was ending after its sixth season, the trio wrote a letter to fans, speaking on the adventures and the emotional roller coasters the Miyagiverse has gone through from the 1984 film to the present series.
“Our Day 1 goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. The first and second seasons of Cobra Kai first launched on YouTube Red/Premium in May 2018 and April 2019. Netflix eventually acquired the series in June 2020 after YouTube decided to stop producing scripted original programming. The series attained high viewership on both YouTube and Netflix and has received critical acclaim for its writing, performances, action sequences, humor, character development, and faithfulness to the previous films. With its success, it has received numerous awards and nominations such as Outstanding Comedy Series at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.
A brand new Karate Kid film is set to hit theaters on May 30, 2025, with Macchio and Jackie Chan being part of the film. It was originally set to release in June 2024 and then in December 2024. The reason for the release date being pushed back is due to the delayed Cobra Kai production, which means there may be a slight crossover happening.

As it was said by the executive producers/writers of the series, it is going to be a bittersweet moment when the series comes to an end. The characters have grown so much since the first season and we can only hope that it will have a proper ending.
