MIKE JUDGE’S BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD Secures Season 3 Renewal

Mike Judge's dynamic duo will be back for more misadventures. Comedy Central today announced that the upcoming second season of the revival of the iconic Beavis and Butt-head will debut on the network on Wednesday, July 10. On top of that, the network also confirmed that the show has been renewed for a confirmed third season.

Comedy Central today announced that the upcoming second season of the revival of the iconic Beavis and Butt-head will debut on the network on Wednesday, July 10. On top of that, the network also confirmed that the show has been renewed for a confirmed third season.

On top of that, Comedy Central and Paramount Media networks are doubling down on the Beavis and Butt-head franchise. Beavis and Butt-head Do the Universe, which initially premiered on Paramount+, will make its Comedy Central debut next month on Wednesday, July 3 at 10:00 pm ET/PT.

MTV Entertainment Studios renewed the critically acclaimed adult animation series for a third season. Production on Season 3 is already underway and is expected to debut later in 2025 on Comedy Central. The new season is already available on Paramount+, so fans will be able to watch the show through both streaming and broadcast television. BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD REVIVAL LANDS EARLY THIRD-SEASON RENEWAL

Season 2 of the hit series will air on Comedy Central at 10:00 pm ET/PT on Wednesday nights starting July 10. The show originally premiered on MTV in 1993. Emmy Award-winning creator Mike Judge cemented the iconic antiheroes as cornerstones in adult animation and popular culture. Over 30 years later, the series remains a significant part of the cultural zeitgeist.

The characters first debuted in Judge’s 1992 short film, “Frog Baseball,” which aired on MTV’s animation showcase, Liquid Television. MTV later commissioned a full series for the characters. The show initially ran for seven seasons from March 8, 1993 to November 28, 1997. The series was later revived for an eighth season in 2011 that also aired on MTV.

The show spawned various related media, including the theatrical hit film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, which was released in 1996. The film was a blockbuster, grossing over $63 million at the domestic box office off a reported $12 million budget.

The series revival is executive produced by Mike Judge, who also returns to voice the iconic antiheroes, Lew Morton, and Michael Rotenberg. Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio executive produce the series for Titmouse.

The original 1990s series, the 1990s theatrical feature, and the new renewal are all streaming now on Paramount+. Season 3 will debut later next year. It’s official release date will be revealed later on.

Created and voiced by writer, producer, and director Mike Judge, the characters of Beavis and Butt-Head originated in Judge’s 1992 short film “Frog Baseball,” which was broadcast by MTV’s animation showcase Liquid Television. After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons, from March 8, 1993 to Nov. 28, 1997.

The series was revived in 2011 with an eighth season airing on MTV.
