Brian Michael Bendis is bringing his take on the Man Of Steel an to end sooner than later.
Bendis originally made a note of his run coming to an end in June, but readers didn’t know how much closer that end was. Here is what he had to say back in June:

”I’m heading towards the end of my run on Superman, so I’ve been more reflective on it. And it’s — I’ll never be more grateful than I got to heal my near-death experience through Superman, and get through this pandemic. No matter what’s going on with this world, I get to spend a few hours each day with Superman. That’s a gift.”

Based on his comments, Bendis sounds very grateful to have been able to leave his signature on Superman. Not many writers are lucky enough to have helped keep the Kryptonian flying high in the 2020s. His time with the character has left some amazing works behind, such as the House Of El saga involving Superman, Superboy, and Supergirl.
He repeated his thanks in a recent tweet:
Just want to say thank you to everyone who's Been keeping this constant stream of lovely thoughts particularly about our Superman and Legion. being able to spend this entire pandemic hanging out with Superman has been a great mental health gift. https://t.co/98r5bcS7HX

The upcoming December release calendar has shown that Bendis’ final issue will be on the 15th in the Superman comic line while his final Action Comics issue will be on the 22nd. Sounds like a good month for the final time Bendis will be writing. It will also be interesting to see who will take over in 2021 for the Superman comics.
This will not be the end of Bendis at DC, however, as he is still on track to keep going with his Legion of Super-Heroes comic. What do you think of this change? Stay with The Illuminerdi for more DC Comics news and features.
