Watch out, Benoit Blanc! Ethan Hawke is here.
With the surprise success of Rian Johnson’s mystery thriller Knives Out, a sequel was naturally greenlit – not to mention a third film in the series. The film grossed around $300M dollars worldwide and is considered one of Johnson’s finest works as well as a pop culture classic for murder-mystery oriented films.

The next two films will be exclusively on Netflix, and the cast has kept increasing at an exponential rate. This makes sense, seeing as the first film had a star-studded cast that included Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Chris Evans.
Ethan Hawke: Guns Out
Now, a new report from set has come through showing that one of the previously unknown stars of the sequel – Ethan Hawke – is filming.
The set photo leak shows Ethan Hawke spotted with the cast of the film and with similar vacation attire. Production the the sequel just started a few days ago, and the studio confirmed that the film’s setting will be in Greece, although Hawke had conveniently not been officially announced yet for official casting of the movie.
This will also not be Ethan Hawke’s only project this year, as he is expected to appear and star in Marvel’s Moon Knight for Disney+. This makes it highly likely that after Knives Out 2 has finished filming, Hawke will travel to Budapest where it’s rumored the series will be filmed there.
Plot details of the film has not been reported yet so, the films story is still a mystery.
There is also no premiere date announced for Knives Out 2, although we can expect the film to release on Netflix. Returning for the highly anticipated sequel is star Daniel Craig, who was the main protagonist in the first film. Craig will be joining a new cast consisting of Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Edward Norton, Jessica Henwick, and Leslie Odam Jr. Rian Johnson will return to direct the sequel.
