The third season of Doom Patrol is approaching fast, the season premiere of this series comes out on September 23rd, exclusively on HBO Max. The Titans spinoff was possibly the best spin-off by far, based on what the fans have to say. Due to the popularity of the show, a new spin-off is in development based on the DC Comics’ Vertigo, The Dead Boys Detectives.
Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant have joined the cast of HBO Max’s superhero drama Doom Patrol. They will join the series’s third season as Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland, the Dead Boy Detectives. They were created by the writer Neil Gaiman and artists Matt Wagner and Malcolm Jones III in The Sandman #25.
Steve Yockey is writing and producing the pilot. Jeremy Carver is executive producing along with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden will executive produce with Berlanti Productions. There is no director attached to the pilot as of now. The shooting of the show will begin shooting in November.
Who Are The Dead Boy Detectives?
The characters are the ghost of two dead children who stay on Earth to become detectives investigating crimes involving the supernatural and would rather not enter the afterlife. The characters are children and their stories often involve other children and child-related themes but The Dead Boy Detectives carry the “suggested for mature readers” label.
The Dead Boy Detectives seem like an interesting concept for a spin-off. Only time will tell how the characters will interact with the Doom Patrol characters when they arrive sometime in season three.
