Fans will soon finally get the live-action, Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of She-Hulk in a brand-new Disney+ series. Fresh off the show’s newest trailer debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios dropped a new behind-the-scenes video, offering a closer look at Marvel’s jade giantess.
The new “I’m a Hulk” behind-the-scenes clip from Marvel Studios features new footage from the upcoming series, new interview clips with the cast and crew, along with some fun tongue-in-cheek humor that’s consistent with the She-Hulk comics and character history. Tatiana Maslany stars in the new upcoming MCU series as Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, the cousin of The Hulk, aka Bruce Banner. Mark Ruffalo reprises his longtime role of Bruce Banner/Hulk for the upcoming series. Based on the trailer and new featurette, Banner takes on a mentorship role for She-Hulk, as Jennifer Struggles to adjust to her new life.
Banner notes, “Being a superhero is a trial by fire.” Jennifer responds, “Oh, I’m not a superhero. I just want to be a normal, anonymous lawyer.” Meanwhile, Banner tries to impress upon Jennifer that she cannot return to her old life, and that she has the ability to help protect the world.
The featurette also includes Ruffalo speaking about the show having a fun “tongue-in-cheek, self-referential” style, something longtime comic fans will note is consistent with the She-Hulk character. The series’ lead writer and executive producer Jessica Gao also noted in the featurette how in the comics, She-Hulk would actually break the fourth wall and utilize meta humor.
There’s even some footage in the featurette of Jennifer talking to the camera explaining that this series is “not one of those cameos every week type of shows,” before ultimately realizing that the show is filled with cameos and returns from existing MCU characters, including Bruce Banner, Wong (Benedict Wong), and Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth). Notably, Tim Roth finally reprises his role as Emil Blonsky, aka Abomination, in this series following a short cameo in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Notably, Abomination’s design has been updated to hue closer to the comics as well, which is nice to see.

The trailer also featured a lot of new snippets of action footage, including She-Hulk in action, a little bit more of Jameela Jamila Jamil as Titania, and what looks to be the MCU debut of Frog-Man. It also looks like She-Hulk and Wong are fighting some type of mutant bat creatures. Marvel Studios using a deep cut such as Frog-Man for this series definitely looks to be an appropriate choice.
Thus far, the footage for the new series looks fun and promising. Hopefully, the final product is as fun and charming as it looks in the latest trailer and featurette. Also, while the show does have a humorous side, it does look like there is a nice focus on Jennifer Walters’ identity and personality as she embarks on this journey.
The debut of Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is right around the corner. The show premieres on August 17 on Disney+. New episodes will be streaming weekly.
