Just four weeks after Marvel Studios and director Scott Derrickson parted ways over creative differences on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Marvel already has their sights set on a replacement director.
Sam Raimi, father of the modern superhero film is being eyed to pick up in the director’s chair where Derrickson left off. Derrickson is remaining on the project in an executive producing capacity, but Raimi is expected to be taking over directorial duties.

Sam Raimi was an already successful director prior to his Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, however those blockbuster releases made him a household name. To this date Spider-Man 2 still ranks as one of the top comic book films on most people’s lists. He also accomplished this when comic book films were not as commonplace as they are today. Prior to the Spider-Man films, he gained fame for his Evil Dead trilogy, which all starred long-time friend Bruce Campbell.
Look for Sam Raimi to bring his own distinct style (and hopefully Bruce Campbell) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 7th, 2021! What do you think of the Raimi jumping into the MCU? Is this a good fit? Let us know in the comment section and on our social media!
