The next movie by Pixar’s groundbreaking director Pete Docter, who directed Pixar’s Monster Inc., Up, Inside Out, Wall-E, and the first two Toy Story movies, is titled, Soul.

The Story Behind Soul

Joe Gardner, a middle school band teacher and full heart musician, eans the chance of a lifetime when he gets a gig in a nightclub. However, a string of unfortunate circumstances leads to an accident and he seemingly dies. Gardner’s soul is then teleported to the “Great Before,” where they get new personalities, quirks, and interests. There he meets, 22, an infant spirit. He then tries to find a way back to his body, while they learn a lot about each other and life itself.

Soul

The trailer looks absolutely stunning and the animation is like every Pixar movie…gorgeous. It seems like they are pushing their storytelling in new and exciting ways, while using unique animation techniques. Similar to Inside Out, this movie has a lot of potential to become another masterpiece in Pixar’s filmography.
