Shang-Chi may be showing some of its cards earlier than expected.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is becoming stronger and more expansive as Phase 4 started on a great and highly successful note with the hit TV series WandaVision. The phase will include multiple TV series and movies such as Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eternals, and much more. However, one of the most mysterious upcoming films is Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings.

Shang-Chi will be played Canadian actor Simu Liu, and ever since the film was first announced in Comic Con 2019, many fans and audiences would wonder what the film’s story would be about. While there have been few updates about Shang-Chi’s plot, we might have just gotten our first real look at his costume.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Lego Spoilers
As well all know, many studios use licensed merchandise to promote and market their blockbuster films. Sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn’t, but most unfortunate is when important images or information of their projects leak due to a film’s licensed merchandise.
A recent image of a Lego Play Set relating to Shang-Chi has been reportedly leaked, showcasing Liu’s character in his costume for the upcoming film. It appears that Liu’s Shang-Chi will be wearing a Red G,i or a martial arts outfit. We also see in what could be a potential villain, as the character is shown fighting a red dragon and a character named Wenwu on the box artwork.
Wenwu could be the main villain of the film, AKA the Mandarin. The Mandarin was known in the comics as one of Iron Man’s primary antagonists, originally making an appearance in Iron Man 3 and played by Ben Kingsley. However, it was revealed he was playing a fake version of the character. The real Mandarin will make his appearance in the upcoming Shang-Chi and will be played by Tony Leung. There is also a chance Wenwu could be a secondary villain, though. We will have to wait and see.
Shang-Chi is one of Marvel’s oldest and most fascinating heroes. Despite the character’s rich history, he is very underrated – something which will hopefully change when Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings releases in theatres. The film could also become a cultural phenomenon and iconic for the Asian American community. Only time will tell, but we can hope and expect our latest Marvel hero to become a household name in the mainstream media.
Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings is scheduled to release in July 9, 2021. Canadian actor Simu Liu will play Shang Shi while award winning actor Tony Leung will portray the film’s main villain The Mandarin. The film is also set to star Awkwafina, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
