The Falcon And The Winter Soldier debuted this week with rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The premiere saw the return of fan favorites and stars Sam Wilson and James “Bucky” Barnes, while introducing a number of new characters including a number from the comics like John Walker, Joaquin Torres who becomes the next Falcon in the comics, and the Flag Smashers.
And while Marvel may not have included any post credit scenes, eagle eye fans did pick up on Easter eggs in the credits that tease exciting things to come. Murphy’s Multiverse pointed to these important clues that seem to indicate two major Marvel characters will be making their MCU debut in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.
A partial image of Carl Lumbly who is playing an unknown character in the series although it has been long suspected that Lumbly will be playing the Marvel comic book character Isaiah Bradley. Given the fact that in the same image that shows the partial photo of Lumbly is a document with the “name” section filled out with a subject number this seems even more likely now.

In an interview with Screen Rant, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Showrunner, Malcolm Spellman, revealed that the 2003 Captain America comic limited series Truth: Red White & Black was a major inspiration for the series.
“The audience probably won’t see identical composites from the book, because it just changes once you go into the MCU. But the spirit of it is absolutely there. Like I said, you couldn’t hide from it.”
This makes it seem even more likely that Lumbly will be playing Isaiah Bradley, who was introduced in Truth: Red White & Black as one of the African American soldiers who was used as an early test subject for the super soldier serum before it was given to Steve Rogers. Bradley was one of the few men to survive the involuntary experimentation and stole one of Steve Rogers’ suits before going on a one-man suicide mission against a Nazi base.

Bradley was captured and experimented on by the Nazis before escaping and being court martialed then imprisoned for twenty years. Bradley became the first African-American Captain America, but as a result of the multiple experimentations Bradley’s mental acumen declined. It has also been rumored that Isaiah Bradley’s grandson, Eli Bradley, will make his debut in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.
THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER CREDITS TEASES POWER BROKER
An image of a vial with blue liquid inside and partial images of other behind it along with the words “POWER BROKER WATCHING”. Power Broker is an important character in relation to US Agent aka John Walker who was introduced as the new Captain America at the end of the premiere of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. Power Broker offered civilians a super soldier serum similar to Steve Rogers’ for a price and Walker was one of his subjects.

With Power Broker and the vials of blue serum which seems likely to be super soldier serum this seems like a definite indicator that the Marvel villain will make an appearance and could be tied to not only John Walker, but the Flag Smasher group as well. Given that one of the members of Flag Smasher seemed to be exhibiting super strength this would be a perfect opportunity to bring in Power Broker and another aspect of Steve Roger’s legacy.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is shaping up to be another amazing Marvel series on Disney Plus and with these teases it looks like many different elements of the Captain America legacy will be explored including the secret history of Captain America during World War II, the super soldier serum, and of course who will take on the responsibility of the shield and what that means.
