Netflix Nears Deal To Buy Knives Out 2 & 3 For $400 Million

After the huge success of Knives Out, Netflix is nearing a massive deal for two sequels with Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig returning.

Deadline exclusively reported that Netflix is nearing a $400 – $450 Million deal for Knives Out 2 and 3. Rian Johnson has written the sequels and is set to direct both sequels. Daniel Craig will return in his role as Detective Benoit Blanc, for which he gained a Golden Globe nomination for the original Knives Out, which was released in 2019.

This deal is one of the biggest streamer movie deals in history, and fans are buzzing with what it might mean for the future of the franchise in particular and for streaming at large.

Knives Out Rushes Full Speed Ahead

The recent discreet auction that went on between three streamers Netflix, Apple and Amazon, with Netflix winning.

The original was a surprise hit crossing $310 Million at the Global Box Office, with a $40 Million budget. It has a top tier ensemble cast including: Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Christopher Plummer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell. It later gained nominations for multiple Golden Globes and a Oscar Nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Knives Out 2 will begin shooting June 28 in Greece, and casting will begin immediately.
