Last night episode introduced fans to what is called the Void it is a part of the sacred timeline where it’s known as the end of time. We find out that everything or everyone the Time Variance Authority (TVA) prunes goes directly to the Void.
Who Is Loki’s New Supervillain?
The Void basically is a desolate wasteland and contains a cloud like entity called Alioth. Alioth in the Marvel comics is a entity that feeds on temporal energy and with it contains the power to go through time and space. When we see Alioth in episode 5 of Loki the entity feeds on anything that is stuck or transferred into the void.
What fascinating about Alioth is that in the comics the entity is a sworn enemy of Marvel Supervillain Kang The Conqueror. That is mainly due to Alioth’s nature he would devour or absorb any temporal energy or source it could find, and in Kang’s case his kingdom or plans of domination through time travel.
As we go back to Alioth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Alioth is not a really a villain, but just an entity doing it’s job from keeping the Variants from escaping the Void by devouring them. We also find out that Alioth could be some kind of protector or guarding on what is in the other side of the Void or the end of time.
With the entity’s history with time and space, we could assume that Alioth’s appearance is setting up the Time Traveling Conqueror himself Kang. Now we all know that Kang The Conqueror will make an appearance in Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania. We also know that Kang will be played by Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors.
It won’t be a surprise if Kang does make appearance at the end of next week’s finale, and was behind the formation of TVA the whole time. It is also worth to note that TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw was Kang’s lover in the comics. So it won’t be a surprise if she and Kang become a supervillain couple in the MCU.
Loki episode 5 is now available in Disney Plus and the final episode will premiere next Wednesday (July 14th)
