The scene from the trailer that had the fanbase truly excited was the reveal of the Abomination fighting Wong in a fighting arena. The second trailer made waves among fans, as they all went berserk on Twitter.

Welcome Back, Abomination

Shang-Chi - Abomination

The last time fans saw Abomination was in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, which was already thirteen years ago. So why introduce him in this new movie?

The producer Jonathan Schwartz talked about the Abomination’s involvement in the film, and about whether or not Tim Roth was involved. Jonathan confirmed that, “Roth did some vocalization for us… he certainly was part of that process.” It came down to who would be the coolest character for that moment.

“There will be more of Abomination to come, so more of that story to be told. With regards to Shang-Chi , it sort of came down to who would be the coolest character for this moment? Who do we want to see in that ring? And then understanding who would make sense for whatever ongoing stories they have going on out there in the bigger universe.”

There will be more of Abomination to come, due to the planning of using him on the upcoming She-Hulk Disney+ show. There is also no clear indication that Abomination will serve any major role in this movie but fans won’t know for sure until today.

The character will get time to shine in She-Hulk, however, as he is key cast member on the show. So if anyone is disappointed by the ugly green giant’s role in the film, they can at least rest knowing they’ll see more of him very soon.
