Marvel fans are closely analyzing Daredevil’s Vincent D’Onofrio’s twitter in hopes that his recent activity hints at his rumored return in Hawkeye. The first trailer for Hawkeye, the next Marvel Disney Plus series, dropped earlier this week and fans are excited with the first look at Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, the teased Rogers musical, and Clint’s time as Ronin coming back to haunt him.
And while there was a quick shot of Echo in the trailer, one character that fans have been eagerly hoping to see in Hawkeye wasn’t present, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Rumors of Vincent D’Onofrio reprising his role as Kingpin from Daredevil have been circulating since July when a Reddit post claimed Kingpin would be making his return.

Many fans have been hoping some of the Netflix Marvel actors would reprise their roles in the MCU. Rumors of Charlie Cox returning in Spider-Man: No Way Home got that ball rolling and the rumors of Vincent D’Onofrio fueled the fire. With the release of the first Hawkeye trailer fans were hoping to catch a peek of the larger than life Hell’s Kitchen villain.
Although Kingpin wasn’t shown, that didn’t stop fans from tweeting about their excitement about Vincent D’Onofiro’s rumored return. Vincent D’Onofrio added fuel to this fire by liking many of these tweets and fans have been ecstatic by these actions especially when Vincent D’Onofrio liked the tweets specifically referring to Kingpin.
VINCENT D’ONOFRIO POEMS ON TWITTER LEAD TO MORE FAN SPECULATION ABOUT HIS RUMORED RETURN AS KINGPIN IN HAWKEYE
Vincent D’Onofrio also tweeted a few cryptic poems that have gotten fans even more excited. One of the poems makes a reference to a “Great White Shark” which many fans are speculating is a reference to his villain Kingpin.

Another mentions a “three legged dog” which many fans believe is a reference to Lucky The Pizza Dog who will be appearing in Hawkeye.
And although Vincent D’Onofrio also tweeted a poem warning fans that it’s “Silly to look deeper into the little pieces I write.” He did share his appreciation for the Marvel fandom and acknowledged that he loved playing Kingpin in Netflix’s Daredevil.
What may be most interesting about Vincent D’Onofrio’s poem responding to fans is that it isn’t an outright denial. Many actors have denied outright that they will be appearing in the MCU including Tatiana Maslany who was confirmed to be She-Hulk as well as Andrew Garfield and Charlie Cox who are both rumored to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Vincent D’Onofrio’s response skirts the line a bit more which has only bolstered fans’ hopes and excitement.
Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin would be a great fit for not only Hawkeye, but Echo as well. Fisk is tied directly to Echo in the comics having adopted her thus fulfilling the final wish of her father, who Kingpin killed. Vincent D’Onofrio was praised by fans and critics alike for his portrayal of Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin bringing a gravitas, a menacing feel, and an unexpected softness and sadness to the character.
Many fans of Marvel Television, pre-Disney Plus, are hoping that rumors of many of these actors returning are true, notably Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.
Although if these characters return it is expected that they won’t be directly pulled from the Netflix series instead treating them as soft reboots. Krysten Ritter has recently shared her interest in reprising her role as Jessica Jones as well. Fans don’t have to wait too much longer to find out if Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will be reprising their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively.
