Ultraman Season 2 Anime Trailer reveals epic new Story with Release Date

Ultraman

The 2nd Season of Ultraman releases a trailer for animated series that features 6 Ultraman warriors uniting. The Tokusatsu series’ anime adaptation will debut its next installment on Netflix and promises epic action beyond what the live show provides. The new story also raises the stack as half of humanity is now at risk from an alien threat.

Ultraman is a Tokusatsu franchise that has run alongside Super Sentai and Kamen Rider as a top Superhero series in Japan. To this day there are still ongoing Ultraman releases for the live-action, but the franchise produced its first Netflix anime series in 2019. Using the format, the show was able to be made available worldwide and includes greater effects and dynamic combat that makes it stand out from its live-action counterpart.

Fans now get to see what else the series has in store with directors Kenji Kemiyama and Shinji Aramaki offering a deeper experience in this Superhero universe. Ultraman has a completely different vibe compared to most Tokusatsu superheroes but like the others, it has its own unique lores and aesthetic.

Here is the official trailer, giving fans a sneak peek at what is to come.

The trailer shows so much epic detailing on the suits. It did seem that the first season featured the hero at human size. Typically, Ultraman are as large as the Kaiju they fight against, which seems to be what they may now be doing in Season 2. The combat has such a great pace and now there are even abilities of other Ultraman being added.

Ultraman Heroes Join the Fight

The hero isn’t fighting alone as other heroes join him in this series. This includes Seven, Ace, Zoffy, Jack, and Taro, which have each been a live-action series in the franchise. It will be great to see how much more is added to the Heroes in this anime adaptation. Ultraman Taro also stands out among the others as his fire ability is seen in the trailer so hopefully techniques of the others will be used to help them stand out among each other.

It also appears that the suits have been redesigned compared to the original versions seen in the live-action series. The look is so much more robotic and in general, looks updated to a modern design. The features that stand out on each of the suits are still there but the art style makes them look better than before.

Ultraman

The kaiji-looking aliens that appear in the trailer also look incredibly strong, which is great to see as it suggests fans may get epic fights that will showcase each Ultraman. Although we are rooting for the heroes, hopefully, the threats aren’t appearing and eliminated episodically as this is the format fans are used to seeing in the live-action show. We will have to wait and see how these foes will be used and what their storyline may be.

Ultraman

Whether or not the latest Ultraman series will be seen in this format but it would be interesting to see as the latest installments have gimmicks that would be amazing to see. Especially since there are some Ultraman that have representation for past heroes, much like the Super Sentai series Zenkaiger or Kamen Rider Zi-O.

Ultraman Season 2 will be available worldwide on April 14th, 2022, exclusively on Netflix.

If you haven’t watched any of the Ultraman anime series, now is the perfect time to start, or catchup, with season 1. The series is action-packed will be enjoyed by both Tokusatsu fans as well as anime fans. It will be amazing to see what the series debuts next and also curious to see if there will be any other Tokusatsu shows that make the adaptation. Power Rangers is one franchise that is expecting to have an anime series released in the future but Kamen Rider will certainly do amazing if it made the jump and became a worldwide release.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
