Portkey Games’ brand new game Hogwarts Legacy will have its first State Of Play event this upcoming Thursday.
Hogwarts Legacy will be the first open-world Harry Potter-based video game. Developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games, the new game promises fans the ultimate Harry Potter experience. It will feature elements and nods introduced in the eight Harry Potter films and novels, and possibly even including details and nods shown in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise.
A Whole New Hogwarts World
The upcoming game is set in the late 1800s, focusing on one particular School of Witchcraft and Wizardry student. Players will have the ability to choose their preferred class House (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw).

The game will also allow players to attend classes and learn special skills. These unique skills include spellcasting, brewing potions, taming magical creatures, and mastering wizard dueling (offensive and defensive spells). Hogwarts Legacy will also include iconic locations such as Hogsmeade Village, the school itself, and many more. We might see some of these features and areas during this week of Playstation’s new State Of Play on Hogwarts Legacy.
The State Of Play broadcast of Legacy will begin this Thursday, March 17th, at 2:00 pm PST/5:00 pm EST/10:00 pm CET. The Let’s Play broadcast will be part of Playstation’s new State Of Play live stream. The live stream will run for about twenty minutes. The live stream will then conclude with team members of Avalanche Software giving insight into bringing Hogwarts Legacy to life.
The event will feature over fourteen minutes of gameplay captured on the Playstation 5. When the first teaser trailer for Hogwarts Legacy was released, the video reached more than twenty-eight million views on the Playstation’s official youtube page. After the trailer was released, fans were shocked with awe with the game’s next-gen graphics and action role-playing gameplay. Playstation promised to share more gameplay of Legacy this year, and with this upcoming Let’s Play, it looks like they will deliver on that promise.
This Thursday, fans can watch Playstation’s Let Play on their official Youtube or Twitch pages at 2:00 pm PST. Hogwarts Legacy is expected to be released on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows. There is no official release date of Hogwarts Legacy at this moment, but it’s expected to release later this year.
