Critters were given tons of exciting news during The Legend Of Vox Machina’s New York Comic Con panel, with the cast revealing that season two will debut next January, teasing what can be expected in season two, and revealing that the adventures of Vox Machina will continue in the third season.
The Legend Of Vox Machina is an adaptation of Critical Role‘s first campaign following a misfit band of adventurers, Vox Machina, as they find hilarious adventures, harrowing dangers, and hard-fought glory.
The first season adapted Critical Role’s first major arc, which explored Percy de Rolo’s origins as the party fought the vampiric Briarwoods who had taken over Percy’s hometown of White Stone. During their quest and the bloody battle, Vox Machina evolved from a group of adventurers into a found family willing to sacrifice themselves to save the others. Fans were serenaded with a hilarious recap of season one by the ever-talented bard Scanlan Shorthalt at the beginning of The Legend Of Vox Machina panel.
Fans have eagerly been awaiting news on season two and the cast did not disappoint revealing that in only a few short months The Legend Of Vox Machina will return with season two premiering January 2023. The first season ended on a massive epic cliffhanger as dragons descended upon Emon which Critters know leads into the longest arc of Campaign One, The Chroma Conclave.
During The Legend Of Vox Machina panel at New York Comic Con fans were treated to a sneak peek of the first episode picking up immediately where the first season ended Vox Machina, along with the rest of Eomn’s citizens, attempt to escape the massive invaders and the destruction they bring.

During the panel, the cast teased what Critters can expect to see in the new season hinting at fan-favorite story beats and arcs that will be adapted including Keyleth’s continued Aramente, how Vex and Vax growth as siblings and individuals, Grog’s new ominous sword, the aftermath of Percy defeating the Briarwoods, and of course some truly epic dragon fights on the horizon.
Sam Riegel talked about how the first season showed Vox Machina coming together to become a family while season two will test that bond as they face a cataclysmic event. The Legend Of Vox Machina offered another sneak peek at the new season with an image showing a room with ties to Vex and Vax’s past.
The first season of The Legend Of Vox Machina focused on Percy’s dark and traumatic past, but season two will dive into the other members of the party. Critters were delighted when during the panel it was teased that the new season will introduce important figures from Pike, Grog, and the twins’ pasts. There was even more good news near the end of the panel when Matt Mercer revealed that The Legend Of Vox Machina has been green-lit for a third season which will continue to tell the epic Chroma Conclave arc.
This massive arc took 46 episodes, over 100 hours of gameplay, to complete during Critical Role’s first campaign. It is not only unsurprising but exciting that this story will be told over the course of multiple seasons. This allows the creators to flesh out the story diving into the important character beats, relationships, and of course epic battles when they are adapted in The Legend Of Vox Machina. The first season boasts beautiful animation, hilarious and raunchy humor, dynamic fight scenes, and heart-wrenching moments of tragedy. Based on the short sneak peek it looks like season two will continue this trend with an action-packed opener from the very start.
