The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comics by Boom! Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless #1 will be the first to release as it debuts the Drakkon Rangers and the return of The Coinless, where Lord Drakkon originated from. Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce #1 will debut the return of the Hyperforce Rangers as the comic equivalent of a Season 2 for the team that originated as a TTRPG series. Both upcoming comics will release variant covers as Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless #1 will feature the Ranger Slayer’s new form and Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce featuring all 5 Rangers with their weapons. The comic featuring the Hyperforce Rangers will also be a foil variant, with both comics limited to 500 copies. The covers for the comics were created by artists Jenny Frison and Steve Morris, respectively. These will only be available until stock runs out and will ship out at the end of July.

The new Ranger Slayer cover is a perfect representation of The Coinless comic as this version of Kimberly was also featured in the Beyond The Grid arc that followed the Shattered Grid. Now broken from the spell, she is a key hero that will be expected to play a big part in the new Drakkon Ranger team. The Hyperforce Variant is a beautiful masterpiece that highlights the Ranger designs in an icy environment, which has amazing details and lighting effects. The foil effect may only be truly experienced once the physical copy is finally in the hands of fans so it will be fantastic to see how it enhances the art.

Both releases are a must-buy as they are obsoletely captivating with their unique styles that bring out the aesthetic of the content. It would have been amazing to have art featuring the whole team for both covers as members are missing, including the other Drakkon Rangers and Hyperforce Green. This is likely done on purpose as it might be linked to the story hidden in the pages. It will be exciting to find out how each story unfolds as they will continue from where they originally cut off, but fans are already aware they will inevitably integrate with the big event celebrating the 30th anniversary of Power Rangers.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
