Last year, in celebration of the 40th anniversary, Dynamite Entertainment began publishing new Fire and Ice comic books. The flagship series is also titled simply “Fire and Ice” and began publication in August 2023. It is unclear if this is an ongoing series or a miniseries. In addition to the key Fire and Ice comic book, there is an upcoming single issue story focused on the beautiful badass, Princess Teegra.

Fire and Ice #4 by writer Bill Willingham is available for purchase on Feb 7, 2024. The first three issues are available now. Leonardo Marco is the talented illustrator on this book, and this creative team is adding layer upon wonderful layer to this fantasy franchise. Fire and Ice explores the lives and backstories of major characters from the film, honoring the legacy while adding new dimensions to the story.

What if the evil ice wizard Nekron had an older brother who was the rightful heir to the throne? Might the villainous tyrant manipulate his own family for selfish gains? What if the subhuman armies of Nekron were once a proud warrior race before their enslavement? What were the warriors Darkwolf and Larn up to in the years preceding the events of the film? The Fire and Ice comic book series answers all of these thrilling questions and more. Check out the official synopsis for the upcoming 4th issue below.

FIRE AND ICE: TEEGRA #1

Fire and Ice #5 has not been officially announced yet and does not have a release date. The issue is not mentioned in Dynamite Entertainment’s March solicitations. It may be revealed in the April solicitations, which have not been released at the time of writing. Regardless, before Fire and Ice #5 arrives, the universe will continue to grow with a new standalone issue.

Fire and Ice: Teegra #1 is a comic book one-shot illustrated that will be published on Feb. 28, 2024. Writer Bill Willingham and artist Gabriele Di Caro continue to flesh out the magical world of Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta with this special 40 page issue. Princess Teegra’s eligibility for marriage is a major plot point in the original tale, and that thread will be explored further in this prequel comic. Check out the official synopsis below.

When you go to war against the dark forces of the frozen north, there are some things you can’t do without – like warriors, weapons, and the will to fight. You also need strong allies if you want to have any hope of victory. But how do you cement the kind of alliances that help to win wars?

Well, if you have a daughter of marriageable age, a strategic betrothal might be a good way to go. And that’s just what King Jarol of Firekeep has in mind for his beautiful, headstrong daughter, Teegra. But what happens when the eligible princes of many kingdoms line up to compete for fair Teegra’s hand, only to find that the promised princess is suddenly nowhere to be found?
