The hit film franchise, A Quiet Place, returns to ground zero of the alien attack with the upcoming prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One. Paramount Pictures recently dropped the Big Game TV spot for the upcoming film, which gives moviegoers a look at the very beginning of the alien attack, but this time, we will see it unfold in New York City!

Day One will follow a new cast and set of characters for the franchise, and it looks like it will tie into the events of the previous film. You can check out the Super Bowl TV spot for the upcoming prequel below:

THE ALIENS ATTACK NEW YORK IN A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE

The previous two films in the franchise were largely confined to small-town America. Day One finally offers a ground point of view of the monsters invading a major American city, such as New York. The scope looks much bigger and wider than the previous films. The new TV spot shows footage of massive destruction caused by the alien invasion in New York, and it looks very dark and intense.

The upcoming prequel stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou. Interestingly enough, it looks like Hounsou will be reprising his role from A Quiet Place: Part Two. He was credited only as Man on Island in the previous sequel. So his presence suggests this is how we will see that character reach the isolated island where survivors are staying undisturbed in the second movie.

Additionally, the press materials for the film also revealed the name of Hounsou’s character which audiences were never given in Part Two. According to the PR materials, his character’s name is Henri (see below). So, it should be interesting to see what Krasinski and Sarnoski have in store for Henri in this story considering he will have to make it out of this storyline intact to get to the events of the second film.

Filmmaker Michael Sarnoski (Pig) takes over as director for the newest installment, taking over from John Krasinski from the previous two movies. Sarnoski is directing the picture from a script he wrote, and a story he conceived along with Krasinski. Day One is produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Krasinski. Allyson Seeger and Vicki Dee Rock are executive producers for the project.
