Cowabunga dudes! Get ready for the sequel for TMNT Mutant Mayhem in 2026.
TMNT Mutant Mayhem 2- the turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem reintroduced the animated heroes in a half-shell to the big screen after 16 years. Fans can’t wait so long to experience the turtle power all over again. Luckily, we won’t have to. The sequel will be released in theaters on October 9, 2026.

An overload of Paramount’s upcoming theatrical films have been reported by Variety, including ones we did not know were happening like a Naked Gun remake and a Better Man musical about the life of Robbie Williams. Now we’re here talking about the biggest surprise of them all.

The news of a sequel to TMNT: Mutant Mayhem is not surprising, we always knew one was happening, considering a sequel was confirmed not too long after the film’s release, and Seth Rogen has a TMNT shared universe planned across film and television. We did not expect a release date today, but we welcome it.

The Shredder Among Mutant Mayhem

Shredder Mutant Mayhem

As of now, there are no plot details other than the inevitable showdown with the Turtles’ arch-nemesis, The Shredder, as teased in TMNT: Mutant Mayhem’s post-credits scene.

The Mutant Mayhem director Jeff Rowe is a man who does not rush his cooking process. He served an appetizer first. Soon, he will bring out the main course.

In an interview with Empire, Rowe touched on his plans for Shredder and his intent to make sure he captures how truly menacing the foe is, not settling for anything less than “100 times scarier than Superfly”.

Shredder used to be the main villain before we pivoted away from that. They saved Joker for The Dark Knight… The one thing I can say without spoiling anything is, [Shredder] needs to be 100 times scarier than Superfly – who is a credible villain, he’s dangerous, he’s strong, he seems like he could mess the Turtles up. Shredder needs to be that, just significantly more.
