AJ Styles recently commented on the release of his friends and members of his unofficial faction, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
It seems WWE has released Superstars and backstage staff like crazy. However, one of those releases really hit home for Styles. Gallows and Anderson were part of his posse and have been doing a lot of work with Styles as of late. Their release came as a huge and disappointing surprise for Styles.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow For AJ Styles
During a recent Mixer live stream, AJ Styles spoke about their release and some of the other big names to be released by WWE.
“That one hurt really bad,” Styles said “The only way I can explain it is that these guys are my family and I couldn’t take care of my little brothers. That’s the way I feel about it. I’m the eldest. I’m supposed to take care of them. I didn’t manage to do that. I feel responsible in some weird way for them being released. It’s devastating. I don’t know any other way to explain it.”
Wrestling Brothers For Years Now
It makes sense Styles sees them as his little brothers because they have known each other for so long. All three of them were part of the Bullet Club in NJPW. They had become friends and Styles probably wanted to use his pull as being the best wrestler in WWE to have them stick around. At least until they got a good chance to showcase their skills which I don’t feel like they ever did.
The Styles Connection Kept Them Afloat
However, Styles shouldn’t feel responsible or bad about them being released. He was the reason fans have seen so much of them lately. Whenever Styles had a match Gallows and Anderson were almost always involved. They were part of a WrestleMania main event match against the Undertaker because of Styles.

Styles may have kept them from being released earlier. It is very possible and I would have loved to see an official faction with the three of them, like a Bullet Club in WWE with Styles going after the main title, Gallows and Anderson going for the tag titles and Finn Balor going after the secondary title. WWE always had Gallows and Anderson interact with Styles and Balor and Too Sweeting each other. It would have made a lot of sense if that was supposed to be a teaser for things to come.
Some Surprising Names On The Released List
Later on in the Mixer Styles read off some other names who had been released and surprised him. He gave a little bit of an extra mention to a few people. The first being Kurt Angle who he calls a buddy of his. Eric Young is someone who he doesn’t know how WWE missed the boat on him. Mike Chioda who is the most experienced referee WWE had. Styles also commented that Sarah Logan was just on TV as she wrestled on Raw this week.
We may already know where Karl Anderson is going after he hinted at a new wrestling home for himself.
Do you share AJ Styles’ surprise at the release of Gallows and Anderson? Were you surprised by any of the names WWE released? The big ones for me were Rusev and Sarah Logan. Give a Phenomenal forearm into the keyboard and comment below and on social media.
