Digimon releases a range of content for the Digimon Adventure 02 series, including new collectibles and a Blu-ray release. A wave of releases places the second series in the spotlight as the 6 DigiDestined take center stage in their latest movie. With the latest movie coming soon, an HD Blu-ray is coming soon for the original Season 2 anime and a new release in the Super Complete Selection Animation line. A new BE Memory for the Vital Bracelet BE will also be released in celebration of the upcoming installment coming this October.
Digimon Adventure 02 directly followed the concluded original and was released as the 2nd Season of Digimon for the English Dub, featuring the DigiDestined 3 years later. The anime sequel first aired in Japan from April 2000 to March 2001, with an older TK and Kari with 3 new DigiDestined. Davis, Yolei, and Cody obtained a new model Digivice along with new Digimon partners, later joined by Ken and Wormmon.

The new series featured Armor Digivolution using Armor DigiEggs and the use of DNA Digivolution to go beyond Champion Level. After their series, the 2nd generation had yet to play vital roles in the recent movies, however, the 4 new additions did feature in Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
New Content Featuring Digimon Adventure 02
There have been many new releases announced as Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning draws closer to release. Iconic Digimon fan and content creator, KarnEX has recently highlighted the latest releases that feature the 2nd generation of DigiDestined. This includes Davis & Ken’s D-3 Digivice releasing for the Super Complete Selection Animation line, a Blu-ray Remaster of the 2nd series of Digimon, and a new BE Memory for the Vital Bracelet line.

Digimon Adventure 02 Blu-ray Coming Soon
Along with the remastered movies, the original Digimon Adventure 02 series will be released on Blu-ray by Discotek. The amazing series will be available for the first time worldwide, with the English version released before the Japanese dub. The new release will also feature high-definition quality provided by an AstroRes upscale and reconstruction from the Japanese originals. The English version will also include art galleries as part of the extras in the Blu-ray release.

Super Complete Selection Animation D-3 Digivice
The D-3 Digivices belonging to Davis and Ken are being released as part of the Super Complete Selection Animation line. This will join previous releases including the original series Digivice, the three D-Power Digivices, and the various D-Scanner Digivices. The Blue and Black Digivices will have unique features related to the DigiDestined that own them, including lines from Davis/Daisuke (Reiko Kiuchi) and Veemon (Junko Noda) or Ken (Romi Park) and Wormmon (Naozumi Takahashi).
These unique features also include voice activation for Veemon’s armor Digivolutions or the Dark Digivolutions from Ken’s alter ego, the Digimon Emperor/Kaiser. Both versions will also be able to play the finale version of the song “Butterfly” and activate distinct evolutions and DNA Digivolutions, with the largest number of evolution phases ever. A game will also be included such as searching for Armour Digieggs for Davis, while Ken’s evil side will set up Control Spires. Both versions will also include two modes each as Davis goes from Digital to real world, while Ken switches between himself and the evil Digimon Kaiser.
This is the not the first D-3 Digivices from the series as previously releases included these types for TK & Kari (Takeru & Hikari). Although there are no announcements regarding the remaining two, it is likely that the red and yellow versions for Cody/Iori and Yolei/Miyako will follow. It is incredible how many features and effects these D-3 Digivices have, but it is understandable that one feature was left out. That feature is the colour change that happens when both Digivices interact and activate the DNA Digivolution.

Adventure 02’s Yolei & Cody: New BE Memory
Although a Digivice from the iconic line has yet to be revealed, the other core tamers from the 2nd season haven’t been left out. Both characters will be given a Vital Bracelet BE release, including their Digimon Hawkmon and Armadillomon. The lines will also feature the other partner Digimon from the series, along with the Armour Digimon, DNA Ultimate Digimon, and even the Mega Digivolutions for the lines. This also includes the Mega Digivolutions for Shakkoumon and Sylphymon, with new Rookie Digimon Ukkomon included with the White and Red DIM card.
Oddly, Salamon is not included in the Rookie stage but, perfectly, they included Gatomon without her tail ring. This is exactly what occurred in the anime series, showing how much power is taken from the Champion Level Digimon without it. It was great to see so many iconic Digimon from the 2nd series included in the range. This includes all the main Armour Digimon and the main foes found throughout the series, with the latest addition from the movie. There is still one mystery addition yet to be revealed, which may be linked to the new movie.
Many fans were not happy with the Mega Digivolution for Shakkoumon as Vikemon has already been seen as the Mega for Joe’s Gomamon. Although previously hinted in the past, this Mega for the Gomamon line finally debuted during the Digimon Tri movies, which is partly why fans are against it. Hopefully, the true Mega will be revealed as Slashangemon since it fits with the line’s concept, but no confirmations have been made.

The Super Complete Selection Animation D-3 Digivice has been scheduled for release in March 2024. A Blue version for Davis and Black for Ken will be released with unique features for both versions.
The new BEMemory set Digimon Adventure 02 D-3 White & Yellow & D-3 White & Red set is scheduled to release in Japan on October 28, 2023. This will only be available in Japanese, with an English version yet to be announced.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will be released in Japan on October 27, 2023, with details regarding the distribution to other countries to still be revealed. The Discotek Blu-ray release of the 02 anime series has yet to be confirmed.
