As is often the case, the pursuit of one scoop has led us to another unexpected story. We initially ventured to find out about plot points that would pull the Jedi into the The Mandalorian’s story, along with details on the new report by FandomWire that Ahsoka Tano would be headlining her own series.
While we weren’t able to get that answered yet, we were able to walk away with an equally intriguing takeaway. You see, we were told where we can expect to see the character in live-action next.
Ahsoka Tano To Reteam With Obi-Wan
According to our source on the inside of the Star Wars machine, Ahsoka Tano is being prepped to appear next in the developing Obi-Wan Kenobi series, starring Ewan McGregor. Our initial excitement wasn’t without skepticism, as we know that the series is in the process of rewrites. However, we were assured that she’s currently in negotiations and is expected to have a presence in the upcoming show. Clearly we don’t know to what degree Ahsoka will be involved in the Obi-Wan storyline, since that’s still being navigated.
It’s also unclear what kind of contract that Dawson and LucasFilm are currently negotiating. It would be of interest to find out if her character is being planned for the big screen, or if they are simply using the Disney Plus platform as a testing ground to measure and grow the character’s popularity. However, judging by fan’s reaction to Rosario Dawson’s casting and the recent proliferation of the character, it’s hard to imagine that Ahsoka Tano won’t be even more popular in live-action than she has been as an animated icon.

Ahsoka Tano was introduced in The Clone Wars series as the padawan under her master, Anakin Skywalker, before he fully turned to the Dark Side of the Force. Tano, a Togruta from the planet Shili, would go on to become a legendary Jedi and commander in the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. Her path has crossed most of the legends of the Star Wars universe ranging from Obi-Wan Kenobi to facing off with Darth Vader himself.
Between the debut of Ahsoka and rumors of Sabine Wren and other familiar faces from Star Wars Rebels making their own appearances in the near future, it really feels like the corner of the Star Wars world that Dave Filoni has created is transitioning into live-action. We can’t wait to bring you more on this and other stories from a galaxy far, far away
