The new trailer for Marvel Comics’ Eternals promises a bright future for the franchise.
With the new movies in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on hold until at least May of 2021, Marvel fans thankfully still have a great deal of other enjoyable source material to enjoy during the extended wait. The new slate of series on Disney+ is finally set to begin with WandaVision coming on January 15, and at least four more new shows have at the very least started production. Marvel Comics is also still very active, giving the world new stories to read through periodically during these difficult times.
There are so many stories that Marvel Comics has created over the years, and many of them serve as some kind of inspiration for the dozens of major blockbuster movies that have released in the modern era of superhero films. Not only do they help solidify the many origin stories of every new hero brought into the fold, but they even give Marvel Studios the chance to work in absolutely monumental comic events. Such as Thanos wiping out half of existence with the snap of an Infinity Stone-adorned finger.

Most recently, Marvel Studios released a new Valkyrie run with an updated look to the central character that is incredibly reminiscent of Tessa Thompson’s iteration from Phase 3 of the Infinity Saga on screen. A new release has just come out that may not be guaranteed to tease anything in the MCU, but it does give off plenty of the same feelings from what we’ve heard thus far.
Marvel’s Eternals #1 Official Trailer
Marvel Entertainment recently released a new trailer for a new run of comics entitled ETERNALS #1, written by Kieron Gillen and Esad Ribić. It features many of the same characters that will be featured in next year’s Eternals movie in the MCU, and the trailer ends revealing that the team will have to fight the mad titan Thanos in this upcoming run.
Thanos has been quite prominent in multiple media forms over most of the last decade, most notably serving as the major big bad in the MCU that culminated with him obtaining all six Infinity Stones and destroying half of all life in the universe. Seeing him back in such a prominent role in the Eternals comics should be exciting for fans worldwide, especially seeing him interact with both the Eternals and the Deviants.
The two immortal beings are set to be enemies once more in next year’s major MCU release, although not many details are known about the film’s plot or storyline as of yet. There are even rumors that a young version of Thanos will make an appearance in the movie as well, which has fans on the edge of their seats for the new theatrical adventure along its source material from the comics.
