Troy Baker, the voice actor of The Last of Us’ Joel Miller, spoke with Comicbook.com about his performance as the Joker in Batman: The Long Halloween.
Troy Baker On The Last Of Us HBO Show
When it comes to HBO’s upcoming series based on the game, Troy Baker spoke about his hopes for Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as the iconic character of the series:
“I want Pedro Pascal to surprise me and teach me something about a character I am so intimately familiar with. It’s the same thing I want to do. Hopefully, The Last of Us will do with the HBO series; that’s the whole point, man.”
Troy Baker went on to reinforce how he hopes that HBO explores a side of the story that has never been seen before:
“We’re here to tell stories. If it’s a story that’s already been told, then the challenge becomes, ‘How do we tell this story in a unique way?”.
Jeffrey Pierce (Tommy in the games), was recently cast to play a rebel in the quarantine zone. Baker made it clear whether or not he would like to be part of the live-action series:
“If there’s an opportunity for me to be a part of that show, I will work for Neil and specifically inside of that franchise because I want to be in that world, I’ll do it any day of the week and twice on Sundays!”
Well…that was pretty straightforward. I can’t imagine that Neil Druckmann wouldn’t recruit Baker for a role in the live-action series. His performance as Joel was so memorable, that I feel like it’s the least he could do.
What are some make-or-break moments that you need to see in the live adaptation of The Last of Us? Would it be Joel showing Ellie the Giraffe? Or perhaps Joel showing Ellie how to play the guitar? Like Troy explained, I hope Neil and Pedro are able to deliver a side of Joel we have yet to see. The same goes for Ellie. Don’t forget to follow us on our social media pages as we will bring you all of the juicy news related to the series, and, eventually, a review of it!
