The former iconic head of S.H.I.E.L.D will be making his triumphant return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Secret Invasion. When it was announced that Nick Fury played by legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson would be making his return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were highly hyped and excited. Jackson’s last performance as Fury was in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Now many fans assumed that Jackson’s next appearance would be in another solo Marvel Studios Avengers-style film. However, that was not the case as Marvel Studios announced last year that Jackson would reprise the character again in Marvel Studios’ live-action series Secret Invasion. Now we have our first look and image of Jackson in the upcoming series.
Nick Fury’s New Look In Secret Invasion
We see in the image promo that Fury will be aged and has gotten a mustache and a beard. It’s not surprising as with all of the events that happened more than 10 years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline that Fury has become tired, but a hardened, and experienced agent. It also looks like Fury will no longer use his iconic eye patch from his damaged left.

Which was accidentally caused by the alien cat Goose in Captain Marvel. Jackson’s adaptation of Nick Fury has become an iconic role in Cinema history by appearing in multiple Marvel films. To his first appearance in a post-credit scene in the very first Iron Man to Spider-Man: Far From Home, that character has been dealt his share of adventure, action, experience, trauma, and most important development. However, Jackson’s appearances as Fury in those films were either as supporting a character or a cameo.
However, it looks like Fury will finally be the main character in Secret Invasion and also Jackson’s first leading role in a Marvel Studios project. Fury’s involvement in Secret Invasion will be key as it looks like it will adapt the original comic-book storyline, where the Skrulls and their armies have secretly invaded Earth. All we just know is that no one can be trusted.
Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion is expected to premiere in 2022 on Disney Plus. The series will star Samuel Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Coleman, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, and Christopher McDonald. The series will consist of six episodes. Secret Invasion will be produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Kyle Bradstreet, and Jonathan Schwartz. The series will be directed by Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim.
