Spider-Man: No Way Home is upon us, and let’s just say the future of Marvel will be very intriguing for the next couple of years.
Ever since the first Doctor Strange film introduced us the concept of the Multiverse, fans wondered how Marvel Studios would implement that concept in the future. It was teased in the Ant-Man films and Avengers: Endgame, as well as mentioned in Spider-Man: Far From Home before finally being explored thoroughly in Loki. But fans had already seen a Multiverse Spider-Man film with Sony’s animated hit Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

Now we will get to see the Multiverse in live-action form in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Ever since the reveal of former cinematic villains returning, alongside the rumored return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, fans were wondering how Marvel can explore this concept even further. We might have gotten our answer as during an interview with Fandango, as Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal confirmed that there are three separate Spider-Man Universes, and that they are all connected or woven together in some way.
During the interview, Pascal was asked if it was difficult to blend the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Spider-Man with Sony’s Universe of the same character – mainly because the Marvel Cinematic Universe has their own set of characters relating to Spider-Man while Sony’s Spider-Man universes has characters such as Venom, Morbius, and Kraven The Hunter.
Pascal explained that, “There’s the Marvel Universe, which is one container and then there’s the Spider-Verse movies, which are different and then there’s the other universe where the Sony characters are in. We all are very respectful of each other and work together and make sure that we’re only being additive.” It’s not really a challenge for Pascal, because each Spider-Man film universe is their own contained story and not always connected.
To add to that, Pascal answered how stories concerning the Multiverse would move forward. “I think you’re going to see a lot of people exploring those worlds because it’s interesting. The parallel universes make for so many interesting stories, but I don’t think that every single movie is going to end up taking place in the multiverse. I think it’s really exciting, and this movie certainly does.”
With these comments by Pascal, we should expect brand-new, exciting, and intriguing stories relating to these various cinematic universes. All we can say is we should hope and possibly prepare for the live action Spider-Verse!
